Muay Thai Chaiya

It has been 2 months since I have started training Muay Thai Chaiya. So this is how a martial art is. Before I can go and hit the bag, I need to go through all basics and fundamental of the art. I went through basic stances, movements, and strikings, well at basic level still. I, myself, am a self-proclaimed cardio boxer trainer, I found the basic is quite challenging. Although my Muay Thai Chaiya trainers agree that the knowledge should be passed on, but it is hard to attract youngsters.

Few weeks ago, I tried to adapt Muay Thai Chaiya to my class; my trainees didn't like it as they had to think while they were moving. I tried for 2 classes until I sensed that they were not too happy, then I suddenly changed the style back to mad mad boxing. Tons of punches and kicks, not too complicated techniques, oh yeah... they were so happy.

It's my personal goal to achieve a certain level which I can teach others a proper martial art, like this one Muay Thai Chaiya. So I'll continue as long as I have time in Thailand.
